    What is this vent problem?

Thank you so much! I will definitely try those recommendations. She has not been pecked at from what I can tell, I've never witnessed any of my silkies doing that. Yes, very crusted around edges, doesn't seem to loosen up much after the baths. Going to try to find some Nustock today!

    What is this vent problem?

We thought this was maybe vent gleet, but have been doing Epsom salt baths everyday for a week, giving probiotics and ACV in water, and has had little improvement. She whines when she poops and it's breaking my heart. She is near egg laying age and I'm afraid of what happens then. Trying to get...

    Help!!! Bleeding hatchling

Thank you for asking:) It's doing great! She was weak at first, but seems totally fine today. Just out of the incubator and holding her own with siblings. This was our first hatch and her siblings did NOT hatch like this, so I panicked! Amazing the changes that occur in 24hrs!

    Help!!! Bleeding hatchling

Just hatched, but looks like umbilical and maybe part of yolk didn't absorb. Still bleeding, not a lot but enough to be worrisome. It's a silkie so small.

    Cochin? Boy?

I was given this chick and was told it's a cochin girl. I'm looking at her today and wondering if she might be a he? Also, I've been told she has some features of a cochin but that she didn't look like most cochins. So I'm curious to see what y'all think :)

    Can chicks just be clumsy?

I've seen her do the head shake a few times but thought maybe it was an itch or she was trying to shake something off her beak, but now thinking there might be something more to that. Thanks everyone for the comments!

    Can chicks just be clumsy?

Thank you very much for this information! I will check out these links! I'll start looking for a vet that treats chickens as mine currently doesn't.

    Can chicks just be clumsy?

We've tried to put her on carpet, a towel, and a corkboard, but it looks more like a trip than a slip.

    Can chicks just be clumsy?

She is eating and drinking. We are using just a light layer of pine shavings. They are eating starter feed. Nothing wrong with her legs that I am seeing. I've seen her stand on one foot so it doesn't seem her legs are weak. I've had the breeder over and she was puzzled as well.

    Can chicks just be clumsy?

Hi all, I have looked this up as many ways as I can think of but still don't feel like I have a good answer. I have a silkie chick that is 3 wks old. She seems to eat and drink fine, poo looks normal and is slowly growing, but takes 5-10 steps and falls forward. She chirps pretty loud and flaps...
