Thank you for your reply. He has been slowly turning white with every feather lost replaced by a white one until eventually this. I'm thinking it's more likely a mutation rather than an illness or diet. I have multiple cockerels and hens and this boy is the only one. They have a good diet and I...
So this happened, 18 months old now. He was a rescue so not bothered about breed standards ect just wondered if others had experienced such a dramatic colour change? This is Ron as a youngster and now after losing his final dark feather 😁
I know polish are very hard to sex but hoping because these are crosses I may be able to tell a little sooner. Any ideas on these 2?
Fyi, the little cross beak chick is growing fine and is no smaller than it's sibling. They will be staying with me regardless of sex I'm just interested.
I agree it's not a hemorrhoid but the cream does sooth and shrink the swelling regardless. Yes it took 2 weeks with my Princess but it stayed in and she carried on as normal after. Xx
Thank you. I've had them 3 weeks now and they were all fully feathered when I got them. Various ages but the golden lace were the smallest. I have a bigger white one that feathers scream roo! But is not red faced yet I'll post a pic of that one see what you think.
I dealt with a prolapse like this, she went on precaution antibiotics and it took 2 weeks to keep it in. But she never had it again so persevere! I recommend when pushing it in you gently hold it in for a good 10 mins each time and I used plenty of hemorrhoid cream to shrink it. It can take a...
They have just learned that I'm fun to jump on and peck at lol! Once one got confident they all just joined in. I've got 8 rescue chicks with a few weeks between them I think. All of a sudden they got really inquisitive.
I posted a couple of weeks back about a batch of mixed aged rescue chicks I got. Now they are growing well. This one I was sure was a pullet as no comb or red face visible and had beautiful rounded crest. I'm now having doubts with new feathers appearing (lovely patterns) and some definite...
No that's a different one. The ones in the other pics don't have these combs at all. None of the other 7 do. Just this one who is a bit bigger than the rest.
So I have my 8 polish chicks. I know for sure one is a roo. I'm posting these 3 as they are the next biggest/oldest. I'm estimating 8/9 weeks Its confusing. One of the white ones crest is a bit wet and dirty lol but still shouts roo at me but the body feathers don't. Opinions on these 3?
