Thanks. She may have been awful at times, but she was still my furry buddy. I just don't seem to keep a good reputation with pets. They either get sick and die or I have to get rid of them, which is why after parting with my chickens a few days ago I am THROUGH with pets.

    Rabbit Thread

Aww, I used to have a bunny years ago. I bought her from a family that was raising them. She was white with black ears and spots. Her name was Marbles; by the way I am very certain she was a female because she was a growler. She continuously had trouble with ear mite. Home treatment wasn't...

Chicken flying up on me. How to make her stop?

I do my best to stop her when I can. But chickens are not dogs, and cannot be told 'No!' and be expected to obey. All I can do is remove her from me if she manages to get on me while my attention is on another chicken, or tending/moving their objects if need be, and hopefully she will get the...

Chicken flying up on me. How to make her stop?

Fussbudget isn't really the sweetest of my flock. She's gentle, and will turn into a puddle in your lap, but she's not so much on wanting be carried around like my Baby. I think she just enjoys being up high even though there are plenty of perches.

Chickens scrunch before I pick them up??

My darlings usually do only when I bend down to pick them up. I do try to be careful where I walk, my sweet Baby can get underfoot sometimes when she follows me or hides behind me from the bullies.

Chickens scrunch before I pick them up??

Lol, that's cool if they recognize me as the 'head hen'.

Chickens scrunch before I pick them up??

My girls are laying! I'm getting 2-4 eggs a day! :)

Chickens scrunch before I pick them up??

When I bend down to pick up any of my girls, sometimes they scrunch down like, and kinda hump their wings up(sorry if I'm not describing their position too well) kinda like they're afraid they'll be hit or something! Has anyone else seen their chickens do this right before being picked up? Are...

Chicken flying up on me. How to make her stop?

Lol, it makes no difference if I'm carrying anything or not. If I am bending over or squatting down to pick up eggs, move objects or petting on another chicken, Fussbudget zeros in on my back. I stick my hand in her face to discourage her when I see her in pounce mode.

Chicken flying up on me. How to make her stop?

My girls aren't fully grown yet, they are approx. 5 months old but they are laying now. Fussbudget is the only one who has the obsession of wanting to get on me. Banshee has flown up on me, but she's not as obsessed with the issue as Fussbudget. I try my best to stop her in the act her when I...

Chicken flying up on me. How to make her stop?

I do stand up when she gets on my back. That's when she crawls up onto my head. Then I take her off and plop her back down.

Chicken flying up on me. How to make her stop?

Every time I bend over or squat down to do something in the chicken coop, my pullet(or young hen...they're laying now) Fussbudget flops up on my back and will continue to my head. It's cute in a way, but painful at times, not to mention disgusting if her feet are filthy. If I manage to catch her...

Is it normal for chickens to stand like flamingos?

I see my chickens do that. I think it's cute! From a distance or at certain angles they look like they only have one leg!

    She did it!

Awwwww, so cute! Little black fuzzies with their mommy! :love

"Treats" that your birds don't like

Is this thread supposed to be about stuff that chickens DON'T like, or DO like, 'cause my girls love mealworms, corn and watermelon.

    Venus flytrap (Dionaea muscipula)

I do wish I could have one, but I never have good luck with houseplants...I just don't know what it is. Maybe I'm cursed???? We have a ton of gnats in our house, I bet I could make a fly trap pretty fat! :gig

    Venus flytrap (Dionaea muscipula)

I like Venus Flytraps, but I shouldn't get one because they're just too picky to take care of, from what I read. How old is yours? Do you have to mist it?

My Baby is being bullied and is scared to death!!! HELP!

The barrier should be wire, correct? So the chickens can see each other, but not reach each other. I hope this works, because if not, there will be two headless chickens. Nobody messes with my sweet Baby. You should've seen the way she stayed right beside me like a frightened puppy and looked up...
