I have 3 roosters and no chicks! If you pick up eggs daily you won’t have them, you only get chicks by putting eggs in incubator or under a broody hen. A rooster does help protect your girls too but mine laid well with and without. You only need one. ( I have too many!)
Sorry, I can’t help you...
These are all hens. 🤗
Mine are very vocal….. there’s a reason they say “They sound like a bunch of cackling hens”
Mine get loud at different times- no reason. Hopefully, no one will mind. They are beautiful!
I absolutely loved this!! You have a wonderful galant for writing humor!!
I gave up letting mine out of their fencing because I love my gardens too much and I’m a cluttered without finding all their holes the hard way! ??? We have a bantam polish that while she’s not brain damaged, she’s still...
I also use the electric net fencing, it allows us to adjust their area ( we use a solar charger so we can move our fences wherever we need. We also have our goats and horse in the same type of fence.) but protects them pretty well. We only had trouble with hawks as long as they were in the...
Find someone who would do it for you. We just had to to kill our most beautiful rooster because he started attacking me with no provocation, he even tried to attack me through the electric net fencing while I was tending my garden with my back to the fence. Today was the last straw when he...
I had this happen to two of my rabbits once! It happens so quickly!!!! We had to cull them as the damage was extensive and they had diarrhea that caused it to begin with. It is beyond gross!! Glad Bert Jr. made it!
My RIR are sneaky and the meanest. One loves to wait and watch until I’m distracted to run up and peck the back of my leg! My most skittish are the Wyandotte’s, my friendliest are Golden Comets
Good morning!
I’ve been concerned about weight gain with my chickens. They are about 4 months old feathered out beautifully, look and act healthy. We have 21 pullets and they are eating approximately 10 pounds of feed ( layer 22% protein pellets) every 2-3 days plus free range and treats, but...

We moved to town and they were not allowed in our area so we got out of it.
Now we have moved back to the country and back into farm life. Now, we have 21 pullets, 12 of which are my grandson's...
