I'm incubating a line of bantam La Flèche that were created by Toni-Marie Astin that come in incredible colors such as Chocolate, bbr, brown red, white, shojo (buff ginger) and many other exciting colors...............................chris
While at the Poultry Congress in Springfield Ma., I talked to the young man who always has La Flèche for sale....He has old stock from the source in Maine....he actually didn't have anything for sale this year, but I was able to get a pullet last year to complete my pair........He did say he was...
This is undoubtedly the same young man I got my hen from.....He really knew the breed well....he has really nice birds too.........................................chrisf
I've heard of this guy from Maine.........im wondering if my female hails from the same stock.....she came from a private breeder upstate NY who claims they were from a very old bloodline..........my male comes from sandhill and also has one dark red hackle feather.....................chrisf
I really like your coop.....my birds are much bigger than what you describe, the male being quite large and heavy....my hen is also quite heavy.....their weight is very deceiving for their size...................................................chrisf
Here are pics of the Polish i inquired about. I got this Polish as a chick and was told it was a tolbunt polish, which was ordered from greenfire farms but i believe i got something else. I could not locate any other polish chickens being sold by Greenfire though. Who knows.
For whatever reason, the short legged genes in Ohiki are not lethal when two short legged are bred together.....ohiki breeders including myself have been doing this for years.................................chrisf
Has anyone ever seen blue la fleche? I saw a pair of blue bantam la fleche at a 4H event on Friday, and now I am obsessed with finding some large breed ones. (I may even settle for bantams next year, if my search doesn't get results). Anyone have any leads?
