3 and 8 are Sapphire Olive Eggers
4 and 6 are Black Australorps or Black Jersey Giants (Check the bottom of their feet, yellow=Jersey, pinkish white/grey=Australorp),
5 is either an Easter or Olive Egger (for what it's worth, I have an Olive Egger from last spring who looks identical to her)

That is definitely a pullet. Coming from someone who has them and also had several pullets who looked like this at that age, don't worry. Her comb isn't bright red like a cockerel would be at that age, and cockerels would have an almost fully black or brown chest as well.
Can I turn the eggs too much during the incubation process? I am building an incubator that will rotate the eggs, is 8 times in one day (rotates every 3 hours) too much? I know that the eggs really only need to be rotated 3-5 times per day but I like the 3 hour intervals better because it gives...
#2 and #4 look like similar to Olive Eggers maybe and #3 is definitely a Barred Rock. I'd check the color of the bottom of #1's feet because that may help with identification.
This is Changa, she hatched out on April 6th, and we bought her from My Pet Chicken Hatchery. I was looking at her today and she seems to have red waddles growing in which I'm not too thrilled about. Am I actually looking at a cockerel?
1 and 2 both look like Amber Links. 3 could be an Black Australorp or Jersey Giant depending on the bottom of the foot color, yellow=Jersey and white/pink=Australorp. 4 is a Black Sex Link. They all are hens.
Family Farm and Home last spring. I'm not sure who they get chicks from though. I asked the employees but they just shrugged and said they unload the boxes when they get delivered and put up the breed signs.
We bought Elsa last spring as a silver laced wyandotte chick but she seems to have a lot more white than our other silver laced. Thoughts? Is it just weird genetics?
Hi all! I ordered a Whiting True Blue Female from McMurray this past spring. Now that she's 17 weeks old, I'm beginning to worry about the sex. We have a Welsummer rooster who's the same age and he's been crowing for a little over a week now, but nothing from the Whiting yet.

I have a pullet from this spring who we bought from McMurray Hatchery as a White Orpington. We've never had this breed before, and google images doesn't seem to be implying that that breed should have blue feet. She is 14 weeks old. Any ideas?
Meet Harkness!
I've had chickens for a number of years, but this has been the first time that we've ordered our chicks online. We purchased 30 overall, half from McMurray and half from My Pet Chicken. All were bought as female. I've been able to ID all the chicks except for one at this point, but the breed I...
