Has anyone used Neem oil directly on the chicken? I have one with a case of scaley leg mites and ivermectin keeps it in check but has not completely gotten rid of it.
Hi! Have you noticed any reduction in flies after your application of neem oil around the coop and run? What is the dilution ratio you use? Also when are you spraying? I’ve been given to understand that neem oil is very toxic to beneficial insects and invertebrates. That’s one of the reasons...
Quick update-
She ate some boiled egg and her eye isn’t shut any longer. About to give her the second dose of antibiotics. Pray that this girl bounces back completely. She’s one of my favorites
Ok so the only thing they have is fish Pen (penicillin)250mg tabs that dissolve in 10 gallons of water.
What dosage should I shoot for? How much water should I dissolve these tabs in and how long to dose for?
These are 250mg tabs that dissolve in 10 gallons of water. How are you dissolving these tabs and at what concentration- ugh someone just bought the last bottle while I was messaging with questions!
Checked her belly and don’t feel anything abnormal. Heading to
If I can only find injectable antibiotics, can I still give it to her orally? I’ll post strength when I have it. Also should I just go ahead and dose everyone for coccidia with corrid?
I just checked for fluid in her belly and didn’t feel anything out of the ordinary. I’m heading to TS to get an oral antibiotic. And some baby bird food. Let’s see if it gets her eating again. Ugh this is so hard. I feel like I’ve been on high alert since I got these girls in June. If it’s not...
None of them have molted completely. But they have all started laying in the last month or so. I’ve seen feathers laying around here and there. No bald spots . I do see the leghorn going after the soft feathers of the two Easter Eggers every now and then.
She just obliged me with a tiny poop. In the past hour she seems to have eaten some. I can feel something in her crop but not much . She’s still slow and has one eye mostly closed. Just gave her some nutridrench
She’s about 8 or 9 months old. She just started laying at the beginning of this month. Her crop is empty. She hasn’t eaten today.i have nutridrench. Can I give her that to see if she perks up? Could this be coccidia? I noticed one of my other hens has loose watery poops. It goes from regular...
Good morning,
My little Easter Egger has been acting weird for the past 10 days. I noticed she had started losing weight and wasn’t as interested in her food as she usually was. There was some unusual pecking behavior , but she had been laying consistently and drinking tons of water. I have 5...
Thanks! I can’t believe I never noticed it before ♀️Looked at some other pictures of leghorns and duh .. there were the white spots. Lol well I’m glad for all the “non expert” experts on here!
That is a distinct possibility. I think she is the only one that I have that will lay white eggs. (She hasn't ever layed yet)Interesting. Hope it’s not a fungal infection.
She’s a mixed breed I have no clue. The white spots appeared suddenly yesterday after the cold and rain. They are on the skin below her ears . Didn’t know they had ear lobes
There was a sudden drastic change in weather with a cold snap that came through. Last night I noticed these white patches behind Nuggets ears. I thought I saw the same spots on the comb and wattle. She seems to be eating just fine.
What could the white stuff be? Should I put some coconut oil on it?
