Checking-In On Peeps - Post Here To Say Hello!

We are super buy touring colleges for my oldest! 😳 Other than lambing season, home schooling, and kids sports, what else do I have time for? Lol Here are a couple new additions to the flock. You better believe, I may not talk, but I do peek in here and there. I tell everyone about this site! It...

    2 dead hens

That's probably the only thing we do is toss feed on the ground of the run to get the chickens inside for the night. Thanks for the info. I really appreciate it!

    2 dead hens

Thank you so much. As long as it isn't contagious to humans, I won't worry about it. I put ACV in their water along with some chicken vitamins. They all seem healthy to me. Plus, they free range, and their laying boxes are kept clean. Idk where the bacteria came from. Unless we shouldn't put...

Thanks. They checked all that, everything was negative. One test failed that was e. Coli. So they couldn't say if it were positive or negative. How do we keep our ladies healthy from bacterial infections?

I remembered later and looked out the window to notice she wasn't there anymore. Good deal. Nope. We found her dead in the barn...

Help! I found a bunch of eggs a broody hen has kept.

I took a very bright light and can see veins in the yolks. I compared it to some lain today, and couldnt see any yolk, it was almost all clear. Assuming, they have been incubated for days... I ended up placing under a heat lamp instead of replacing with the hen. #1 I dont want her laying there...

Help! I found a bunch of eggs a broody hen has kept.

We just found a stash of eggs! I dont know how old they are. They are all warm... I'm scared to take them away as they may be growing into babies... How do I check if they are growing, without damaging them? Any advice is highly appreciated.

What are your favorite coop features?

After building our coop, we decided to build a run. We are planning on homemade waterer and feeders. Our friends have a sand box for their chickens. I was just wondering what are your must haves? What could you live without? Or what would you have done better or differently?
