I just moved into this place about a year ago, and I'm surrounded by several small ponds, And Yes I've seen several snapping turtles in them all. When I realized this, I did put fencing around the ponds in my backyard (but she chooses still to guide her ducklings to the larger pond up front)...
No they all just hang around. I moved here last summer and noticed a Momma muscovy with several brand new baby ducklings underneath her in one of the ponds on the property I live on, Eventually they made their way to the ponds in my backyard, WELL.... I fed them, they stayed, I watched...

Yesterday I posted about the female muscovy duck with possible injuries. She showed up this morning (like she has every day for the past year and a half) and she seems to have shaken the limp as well as the deformity on her wing. I was prepared to catch her band we were going to...
