Mine did too. She act lethargic for 3-4 says. Refused to eat or drink. I gave her fresh water with apple cider vinegar. Some extra grit and calcium chips. She smelled like she was rotting from the inside out. Poor baby died in my arms. She was my elder of my flock. So sad 😞. Sorry you lost...
Ernie Bird has made a routine. She perches on the goat pen gate in the evenings, waits for me to come and put her in her coop. She is safe in her coop, and she lays her egg for me there every morning. No more snake.
I bought probiotics in a powder pack from Tractor Supply to put in water. 1 pac to 1 gallon of water. Im going to try apple cider vinegar in my chicken water. I put it in my goaties water and drink more water now.
I'm sorry to hear about you chicky hen. My Ernie Bird layed a soft egg eith no shell once. Freaked me out. I know it was soft like a ballon with jelly. I researched and found that it was common for this to occur if the hens lack calcium. I bought oyster shell crumbles at Wal-Mart, yes walmart. I...
The snake hss not been back. so my fingers are crossed that he got his free meal and moved on. Ernie bird is smart now to lay her egg in the bunny hutch/coop every morning. I just cannot convince her to roost there in the evenings. Tough . She sleeps in the wide open in the goat pen. .

So my Ernie Bird stayed in the bunny hutch/coop one night. I put her food and water in there. There are two nesting boxes. I let her out yesterday morning. She refused the coop last night, but must of know the boxes were there. The coop door stayed open, just in case she decided to go there to...
He's a pretty big boy. I've had him for 7 years. He's safe and so now is Ernie bird. Gonna get the goat barn cleaned out tomorrow. Fresh hay and cedar chips. Preparing for the hurricane too.
It originally was a chicken coop, but i felt it was two small for two chickens, and used it for a bunny hutch instead. The other chicken disappeared and at least Ernie Bird is safe in the coop/hutch tonight by the house. The bunny is in the house. He's spoiled.
If they are tiny or small snakes, Ernie Bird gets em. She's funny to watch.
She slurps them like a spaghetti noodle. The first time I caught her, I thought her tongue was hanging out. I don't know if she did eat a small poisonous snake, could she be harmed?
I highly doubt she will mess with...
