    Well, I got lucky. Was going to pick her up and move her, but she got the babies inside by herself. I was afraid to move her, she is vicious when she has babies. Anyway it all worked out. Whew

    My broodie hen just hatched 2 new chicks. She got them off the nest and outside. Last night she couldnt get them in. I put a ramp up to the door so the little ones could make it in, but she camped out in the chicken yard. It's fenced, but we have racoons that prowl. What can I do? She survived...

    Keeping chickens warm in the winter

    Does anyone "leave the light on" for the hens when it freezes? 2 of my chickens are 2 years old and the other 3 are teenagers. The older ones caught a respitory infection, but I think they will be ok. The younger ones huddle, the older ones don't.
