    I won't buy store chicken anymore. I get pastured chicken from a local producer. I just can't support the factory meat industry anymore. I spend three times as much on our grocery bill, but I make up for it by not being interested in new clothing or shoes.

    Just got three hens in Shawnee Kansas

    I'm stoked. Got some 'older' hens a week ago. Put them in a chicken tractor from Urban Coop company. They seem happy and are really fun to watch. Got a dozen eggs so far. Anyone else in the Shawnee mission/ Merriam area?
