Thank you for this post. Had a fox attack two nights ago and have a girl with similar injury. She’s awake and still laying eggs bless her, I just couldn’t bear to put her down yet. Feeding mush, aspirin, antibiotics and this picture gives me hope!!! ❤️❤️❤️
We put Yara down today. She seemed to be having some respiratory distress, so she was humanely euthanasized. She’ll be going to Cornell for necropsy. Thank you guys who helped along the way. Once we get those results I’ll let you all know. Thanks again.
When I went out to turn the lights off in the barn where she’s at, she was sitting the most normally I’ve seen all day. She certainly can’t perch, but she had her feet squarely underneath her , comfortable appearing, so we’ll give her a bit more time. We have a 13 lab who’s had a spinal injury...
she has still been eating and drinking, but it seems more of a struggle for her today. She has had pretty reasonable droppings so far, as well. I’ve not given up yet, but I also don’t want to let her suffer...

Things have gotten worse. She can’t get up at all now and when you try to assist her in standing now it’s like she doesn’t know where she is in space and flaps incessantly until she flops sideways.
Yes! I will in the morning. I’m at work overnight. And yes, unfortunately I know about Mareks. I’m crossing my fingers about her, she’s our young and sweet Yara Greyjoy! There are not many poultry vets in my area— last time around with our old bird, no one was very helpful, so though I’m not...
Hey guys! I’m new here and we need help! One of my about 6-7 mo lavender Orpington hens is stumbling around, off balance. Anytime she leans forward to peck or tries to walk/run, she ends up falling face first. She often flaps to sit back up and seems to go backwards better than forward. She...
