Hi all, I just wanted some advice from people in the UK. We have 7 hens and my 10yo son has obtained 16 fertile eggs a couple of weeks ago and I have a few questions...
Out of the 16 eggs how many are likely to hatch?
Ideally i would like the hens to look after the chicks themselves if...
Thanks very much everyone for the replies. Yes we planned to have the goat(s) tethered as it would be costly and unsightly to fence. Unfortunately.
We were interested in milking the goat and assume that this would rule out the dwarf goats. (Plus I actually prefer the full size goats)
I trust...
Hi all I wondered if someone could give me some information please...?
We are an animal loving family of 4 - two you kids 10 and 7yo.
My son and I have been interested in getting a goat for a few years now but were put off when we discovered that we needed to get two. As they are pack animals...
Hi guys, we had 5 and have just introduced a further 3 in the evening whilst dark. Its now been 3 weeks and the 3 new hens are not sleeping on the perch with the others. Two are on the floor and the other is on top of the food bin.

Hi all, as the title I'm looking for suggestions on how I can lock and easily open this run?
I'm currently using 4 pieces of wire threaded through and twisted to secure. Its proving a pain.

How long do you think it will take for them to get used to a new home? i was going to call the guy that I purchased them off this morning with a view of swapping out the two older birds. Would this be worthwhile? Thanks.
Interesting mate and thanks for the comment. It had crossed my mind and as you say its only as good as the seller word. At least I have one that appears to have not reached the age yet. Many thanks, Steve.
Thats great, many thanks. I new to this and didnt understand why one didnt have a comb. They are all being very well looked after and hopefully they will begin to lay soon :)
