i also live in the desert, and want to start hatching eggs, any tips? iv been told my hens arnt the broody type, so im looking into buying a incubator from amazon
so my hens are around the age to be able to lay fertile eggs. I know NOTHING about hatching. 1st. iv read to check if an egg has an embryo you hold it under a flashlight and look for a spot?
2nd do I leave my eggs in the coop for the hen to sit on or do I buy an incubator?

Anyone have links or names of the thermometers they use, wireless so i can see temps from inside so i know to turn on heaters or now would be preferred. i live in the high desert in California so we get to 100+ in the day and drop to 50 at night (summer time). We just got our first 10 chicks so...
