We have a bantam cochin hen that is acting strangely and we are trying to figure out what the issue is. She is 8 months old and has been laying eggs regularly. There are 5 other chickens that she hands out with and a bantam cochin rooster; they all grew up together living in the same roost from...
She only laid the one soft egg, 4 days ago.
1. Where do I get the calcium gluconate or citrate?
2. Is it the same stuff I can buy for myself at the store?
3. Do I mix it in the food or eye dropper?
4. How much does she get?
Sorry for the laundry list of questions
My blue runner has not been laying eggs for 4 days now. The last egg she layed was very thin and the yoke actually broke on the ground where she layed it. Thoughts?
Here is the latest from this morning, no improvement at all. I want to upload a video but the only option I see is through an online video social media platform. I just want to add the video I took this morning. What are everyone's thoughts?
He does not flop as much but still does. We also had the last two hatch out yesterday and we put the three of them in together. He seems to be better with the two new ducklings. They snuggle together and he does not flip backward as much.
made it to TSC and they gave us the bottle in the picture. before we gave it to him Tina noticed the bottle said it has iron in it. Can we give this to him? We told them what we needed it for.
Here are our latest additions. We have a Pekin female and drake and a female Indian Blue Runner female that goes everywhere they go. The three of them are inseparable. The ducklings are so cute, we can't wait to see how the Pekin/Blue Runner looks once they get older.
Here is an update on the kids. Everyone is doing great. We got the shed finished and converted into a coop. Next will be to complete the entrance for them.
How old do they have to be before I can take the food and water out of the coop and put it into the run?
at present I only have one drake, a Pekin, that will be in there. As the youngins get older I plan to move all water and food into the run and not the coop as well.
