Hi everyone, I wonder if anyone has advice. He extends snd flexes and even stands on this leg. However, it seems to turn backwards. I tried to splint the knee but it was too tight so I am letting it rest. I also do not feel a slipped tendon or think its truly splayed. Any advice on how to...
I am reprting with a sad heart. My drake died last night. The female is being very protective this morning. I am working on buying more females so she wont get over worked and additional firghting wont happen. How can I reintroduce her until then?
I agree something has to be done about the boy gorl ratio. I tried and unsuccessfully teied tube feeding. The good news is he got a taste of what I was trying to give him (smooshy baby duck pellets) and the females quake changed and he started to nibble at it.
So I tried to reintroduce him today and they are being aggressive towards him. He wouldn't eat inside so I thought maybe being back with his flock would help. Now I wonder if that was the trouble to begin with. When I got them I wad told they were all male. If fact o think its a 3-1 ratio... Is...
Filled up the standing shower with a couple inches of water and noticed he was nibbling at the ground. I put the food he had spilled in there after he finished cleaning himself. It looks like he is eating a little.
SO he is drinking up a storm but not eating... I ground up some greens and meal worms into his water with electrolytes. I tried some scrambled eggs and bananas too. He has made a mess but doesn't seem to have anything but water in his poop. His spirts are better. He hisses at me and bites at me...
She thinks it's probably an upper respiratory infection but could not say specifically what organism. So I have it seperated with a stuffed duck toy. Its a corn and pellet mix.
Went to vets office and was given Tylon and Meloxicam for pain. Seems a little more perky today after being separated. Still is not eating so I mixed some cornmeal into the water. Its very fine so I am hoping it stays suspended in the water. I also put some soggy bread down with fresh veggies...
I sm wondering if he has something stuck. He is drinking now but rubs his head down on his neck. I cannot feel anything like with my chickens. I am going to show up at the vets and hope she will see me before she leaves for the farms today.
My vet travels to farms but I am going ro show up at her office when it first opens to try and see her. At first I thought they were all drakes but one doesn't have the curl. No fighting. Fingers crossed she will see me.
I did feel his neck and couldn't feel a lump. He started bobbing his head later today so I separated him and made some electrolyte water out of home supplies. I am going to wait until my children fall asleep and try and encourage more drinking. I put him in my bathroom with a full basen of water...
I would say I noticed a difference about 2 weeks ago. At that time it was still eating and drinking just a little slower. Today is the forst day I noticed it with the group but isn't drinking as much or foraging. I even tried meal worms and frozen beans. Ill try and get a better picture him. I...
Hello,
I have noticed for a couple of weeks that my one male duck is acting differently. I was hoping itnwas duck depression and the warm weather would cheer it up.
It recently has started to decreased drinking and eating and follows behind its flock more slowly. Its head sits more low than...

This is a great idea. From the picture does it look like it could be a respitory infection? Someone also recommended vet RX? I sent a picture to my friend who is a vet which is why I have the antibiotic cream. I haven't found a bird vet yet.
