Silver double laced barnevelder bred with black Orpington cross

Hi! Can I ask where you got your double laced silver Barnevelder from? I’m in OH and looking for them. The hatchery I thought would have them last year didn’t proceed with offering them and I can’t find somebody online that is close. Thanks.

(2): a silkie and a booted bantam (Cable OH)

No, I haven’t because of worry over weirdos using craigslist for criminal purposes. I’ve tried Facebook (chicken swap and the local county pages) but they block the posts. I am not sure how else to reach enough fairly local people.

7-8 ish week old polish/silkie mix

I know silkies are harder to tell when young but what about polish? These two are mixed. There are pics of both when little and then one pic of them now.

    Coop Venting

We are putting a window in the back wall. It is 24x36. It’s the only spot available on these that we could find to put one. Interesting how they changed the rooflines for the vents.

    Coop Venting

I’m in Ohio. We don’t get a ton of snow usually here (haven’t used a snow shovel in a couple years) though every once in awhile, we will have a bad winter. I’ve attached a couple pics of the model shed. You can see the standard venting (one in front and one in back). The roof shingles comes...

    Coop Venting

We are ordering a 10x12 shed that we will convert into a coop. It comes with one window and two small vents (in peak - one in front above the door and one in the back). How much more venting is required? We can add four more vents under the eaves OR use a ridge vent to our order. What’s better...

    Four bantams

We have four bantams from TSC (we bought on March 16). Two breeds are obvious (silkie and Mille fleur). Not sure of other two and who will be a hen or roo. Here are some pics from this week. I know the silkie we might not know until we hear a crow or get an egg. Any help appreciated!

    Different chicks from different places

Can you get different chicks from different people/hatcheries, within a couple weeks of each other in age, and keep them in same brooder until ready to go to their coop? Thanks!

Transitional move from house to garage

We bought bantam chicks from TSC about 4-1/2 weeks ago. Two looked to be a tad bigger/older and the others were just delivered to the store and tiny. We have four total. They’ve been inside our house (in a large tote) and using the Brinsea EcoGlow for warmth. We are ready to get them out of the...

Only 6-1/2 month experience...have chicks now too

Today’s pics. They weren’t happy to be moved while I cleaned their little home out...not real cooperative with the camera.

Only 6-1/2 month experience...have chicks now too

I figured an old English but when I looked up the leghorn chick...looks like ours! We have no clue what we have. Lol The little one behind it has super feathery feet (Mille fleur maybe ??). The bigger white is a total guess. I tried looking up different babies that looked like our larger white...

Only 6-1/2 month experience...have chicks now too

We’ve had chickens since September. Those three have their own coop. We have four chicks right now we bought from the bantam section at TSC a few weeks ago that’ll go in another coop (we’d like to add more to them too). We planned on at least six for there but COVID. Not sure when/how to get...
