    Hens eating my eggs

Update: I gave the scratch early this morning, and lettuce late this morning. I have not gotten any eggs today and it looks like there is a wet spot where they are some eggs. This is so frustrating.

    Hens eating my eggs

I have 8 hens, and I know that right now they aren’t laying a lot because of the fluctuating weather, but they keep eating their eggs. Today they laid 4 eggs, and of the 4, they ate 2. Anything I can do about it?

    Baby Chicks.

Thanks. I will take away the lamp tomorrow night. They are in a garage. We have been taking them outside in a net covered run during the day. I’m just a little worried that it is going to get too cold for them at night. It is still dropping into the low 40s at night.

    Hens

Okay, thanks. That helps. What if they won’t eat the grit and oyster shell that is a free choice? Does that mean they don’t need it, or should I buy food with it already in it?

    Hens

When I feed my hens, I give them food, oyster, grit, and corn. The hens pick through it and only eat the food. They leave all the grit, oyster, and corn in the feeder. Is there anything I can do about this? I’m not sure why they don’t eat the corn because the eat scratch grains with corn in it...

    Baby Chicks.

They would be in a ventilated coop at night and a net covered run with access to the coop during the day.

    Baby Chicks.

I have baby chicks they are 6 and 8 weeks old. They are fully feathered and know how to perch. Is it going to be too cold for them the next days?
