    Rooster white diarrhea

Yes sorry mass of white poop. He ended up passing :(. When I checked him last night his eyes were open with no bubbles or such around his eyes. The remaining are foraging today and all seem fine. I’m perplexed. Will keep corrid in water for another week. I don’t see any respiratory issues...

    Rooster white diarrhea

A week or so ago I noticed blood poo in coop. I started adding corrid to water and couldn’t figure out who it was coming from as they were generally all acting fine and trying to inspect them works on a few who let me pick them up. I noticed our polish rooster acting a bit more lethargic last...

    Polish Rooster bad leg

Our polish rooster who is 5 months has hurt one of its legs. He can’t stand on it and has resorted to dragging it around when he hops on his other leg. I’ve not noticed any breakage and it’s like he just can’t move his toes forward to stand on. Tonight now he’s gotten some swelling on the...

Hen won’t let others up the ramp...

I have a hen that was added a month ago and has taken lead of the pecking order. She wasn’t letting the other hens up the ramp at night to roost so I was having to go out there and move her out of the way so they could go in. (They have an automatic door and didn’t have any issues before she...

    Fermented feeders...lets see yours

I ferment and I currently put their food in dog bowls, which usually ends up with wood chips in it from the chickens. I do wash them out every night as well. -looking for ideas to get off ground, maybe a metal top chicken picnic table? -what about going into winter and freezing

    They still won't use :(

Hey there! The nesting box is at least 12" deep. As silkies, they are tiny so they sit in there nicely. Maybe I should put it opposite the big window to the left so they get more light or possibly paint the inside white?

    They still won't use :(

My silkie hens either lay to the left or right of the nesting box. As silkies, they don't like to roost either and would rather they lay eggs in a cleaner area like the nesting box. I've put golf balls in there as well and no go. Here is a pic, should I change the nesting area up some how?

    Is roosting necessary?

3 are 26 weeks and 3 are 20 weeks. I tried last night putting them on and they couldn’t move fast enough off to pig pile on the floor :). I picked up more from their breeder today, she said her silkies just love to huddle and she doesn’t bother trying to get them to roost. Poop really is the...
