    Is This a Pip?

I plan on selling them once they're adults. I don't really want adult quail longterm, so I'm hoping to move them somewhere else before I need to upgrade the brooder to a full enclosure. I can get them if I find a certain way to sell or rehome them once they're adults.

    Is This a Pip?

Since he was the only egg to hatch, I was wondering whether it would be better to buy another quail chick so he'd have some company. There's someone half an hour away selling coturnix chicks about his size. Would it be a good idea to get 1 or 2? I feel bad when I have to focus on something else...

    Where Do You Sell Coturnix?

Thanks! I wasn't really sure how many sales came from fb ads, so that helps!

    Where Do You Sell Coturnix?

I've seen Facebook ads in my area, is that a popular place to sell? How often do people buy from you when you put out an ad?

    Where Do You Sell Coturnix?

I've been thinking of getting into coturnix eggs, but what's the best route to take when looking to sell them? Also, how much space would they require if there were only three or four? If it comes down to me making an enclosure outside, what should the dimensions be? I'm thinking of hatching my...

    Is This a Pip?

Egg still doesn't have a pip, I don't think he made it. Fred is doing really well and he is starting to spread his wings a bit when he jumps down from my hand.

    Is This a Pip?

Nothing new today. Egg is still shaking a bit but I don't see a pip yet. Fred (the chick) is doing well, and he's a bit more chatty now. He's still getting the hang of eating and drinking by himself, I often have to mimic it before he really goes after it. I set him on the ground yesterday and...

    Is This a Pip?

Wish I could, but corona is limiting my options. I'm spending a couple hours a day next to him though. Sometimes I stick my hand in there to cover his eyes when he's sleeping (the light makes him wake up lol) so hopefully my presence makes him a little less lonely. The next two weeks are my...

    Is This a Pip?

I don't think this one made it :( he isn't moving inside and there's more blood. I stopped peeling the membrane but he isn't responding. The membrane is white but it's hard to get through, do you think he was shrinkwrapped? I've got another egg that I just candled and it looked developed, but no...

    Is This a Pip?

I cut a little hole in the membrane but unfortunately I don't think he's alive anymore. I can see part of his body but he isn't moving. 2 hairs came out too even though that probably didn't cause that much damage. I'm going to give him a bit before removing some more of the shell.

    Is This a Pip?

I don't hear a response but I can see the egg move sometimes. I make a zip but didn't open the membrane. It's still white and flexible. I'll give him an hour and see if he makes progress.

    Is This a Pip?

It's white and flexible so far, but the center of the pip is a darker color, almost a green hue. Is that not a good sign? It was moving this morning.

    Is This a Pip?

I took out a little bit of shell around the pip area but I'm not sure if I should break the membrane. Is that a bad idea? I could just help with the zip instead

    Is This a Pip?

Ok, the egg. Good news and bad news. Good news is that I see a pip. The pip was face down on the ground because the chick probably shifted the egg when he was still in the incubator. Bad news is that it's also on the wrong end of the egg. Since he was still moving I think he might still be...

Would putting it in a food processor work?

    Is This a Pip?

Took the tape off today and his feet look great. It took about half and hour but now we're friends again lol. He likes sitting in my hand and hiding under it. I taught him how to drink the water but he has trouble eating the crumble. If I mimic it with my fingers, he goes to peck it, but usually...

    Is This a Pip?

Ok thanks. Checked the temp since he's been hanging out in the corner with the light, and the hottest part is 101 degrees while the corner with the water is at 80.5. I tried encouraging him to eat and drink, but I think he's still trying to get the hang of it.

    Is This a Pip?

Ok both feet are taped. I can already tell he hates it, but at least his feet go flat at the bottom. I'm letting him chill out for now because he's struggling to learn how to walk the correct way. His toes are closer together than the pictures of the examples, but his foot is now bent in the...

    Is This a Pip?

@Nabiki any tips on how to tape the feet? He doesn't stay still for very long Forgot to mention I moved him to the brooder now. I changed out the water feeder and cut out the bottom to fill with water. I put two rocks in just in case. I also have some dishcloths under the heat lamp since he...

    Is This a Pip?

One of the eggs is still moving a little. I don't see a pip yet but I could check again. Should I make a small hole at the broad end to start a pip? I'm a little worried that this one is too overdue, and maybe I should intervene if he's having issues like the hatched one had.
