I would stick with just the 3 for now and maybe expand the run when you have time/money. I have had 4 at one time in our old coop/run and it about 6x10 and they would get a little nutty when it was yucky and they couldn’t roam the backyard.
Wow! You have quite the Equation working there. We are doing a bit of our own Chicken Math too! We welcomed 3 silkies home from my daughter’s science class project, just picked up 6 chocked today and ordered 8 more, on top of the one BR we have!

I’m in the process of doing the same and I put the roosting bars 1” off the floor. My silkies are super social and will come to the side of the cage when I walk up, so the window might be good! Good luck! They are a super sweet breed
No signs of eggs at all. It’s the craziest thing. She is by herself in the coop. A stray dog ate the two other hens we had, and I’m currently bringing up chicks to join her one day. She does all the right things, but still no eggs. Scratching my head...
I have a 9 mo old BR and she hasn’t laid a single egg. She’s on layer feed. She has nesting boxes that she sits in everyday. She sings her song. She doesn’t free range enough to hid them. Still no eggs. What’s up? Any advise? Can chickens Never lay?
