She is a cute little thing and pretty friendly/curious! the pond is cute- it used to have a fish resident but he got eaten by something! not a chicken! Might put a new fish in in the spring!

Following up- based on the terra-cotta colored eggs this pullet is laying I have figured she is a Partridge Penedesenca! She is a cute little thing! that’s her perched by the pond with the comb that is flopping over a bit. Her eggs are very dark and solid with a matte finish before rinsing.

Thanks everyone- the earlobes are what really made me wonder! she isn’t a very friendly girl, her barred rock flock mate is more outgoing than her.

good evening- got this pullet as part of an assortment from Meyer Hatchery- so could be a leghorn or a white rock? Tried to get ear lobe pics - as well as a picture with her barred rock flock mate (same age.) When she was a chick I assumed she was a leghorn but now I am not sure?

and yes, I realize that I would either need to incubate or have a broody hen in order to get chicks- but quite frankly I am not going to explain the finer points of chicken raising to my 6 year old, I just think it’s adorable that he is talking about INFINITE CHICKENS.
