6 month old Buff Orpington Rooster

FREE. Our friendly rooster has become a menace now that our hens are laying, chasing and attacking me and my two boys. I'd love to find him a home but I'm running out of options and am trying to be realistic. I have no interest in eating him myself but I have no problem with anyone else having a...

8 week old with dislocated hip (I think)

We came home yesterday to find one of our chicks unable to use her leg. I'm no vet but it seems dislocated. It hangs limply though she can lift it to hop and tries to bear weight on it. Wondering if a trip to the bird vet would be worth it. She doesn't seem to be in pain but she can't keep up...

5-6 weeks - need gender help!

Really, really hoping for all hens. Minnie Pearl is the favorite of my boys - s/he lets my 5 year old perch her on his arm and walk around pretending he's a pirate and s/he's a parrot. They both seem to be enjoying themselves. Technically I think we might be able to keep a rooster but I'm not...

5-6 weeks - need gender help!

I'm not up on chicken acronyms yet (but based upon my new-found OCD, I will be soon). What's a CM? The woman I got them from bred those 3 and white leghorns. Not sure how the picture came through but in person the front of Underbridge's legs look like they have been rubbed with charcoal. Katherine

5-6 weeks - need gender help!

Buffalo and Joey are Speckled Sussex. Underbridge is a Barred Rock. and Minnie Pearl and Effie Mae are Buff Orpingtons. We got them 5 weeks ago and they were all between 1-5 days old. Any guesses? Thanks in advance! Katherine (1st time chick mom and coop building supervisor)
