Thanks for the response!! We haven’t seen any mites (checked back of neck, under wings, around tail, all looks like pink healthy skin)
Trying to rub some coconut oil on the wound to help it heal and boost immunity with some ACV and garlic... any other suggestions would be appreciated!

I hatched my first baby peachick out a week ago. I accidentally knocked the incubator cord loose right after it hatched and it got chilled for an hour when the incubator was off before I noticed. It has never been very peppy but the last few days it has seemed more and more lethargic. I have it...
Update - I had to return Hazel but I did get some hatching eggs from him first! His first baby just hatched out today - it's half Buff Brahma and half black satin Silkie :)
This one has some brown lacing on her feathers and seems like it has a hen shaped body and a very shy mild temperament (the other one is bolder). I love the crest and cheek poofs - hopefully she will lay a colored egg due to her easter egger heritage!
Thanks again everyone for your responses. They were so helpful! Ok so these are the only two I am still waffling on. I think one boy and one girl. They are now 2.5 months old. I'm thinking the all black one below is a rooster because of the curvy tail feather and bolder attitude but the comb is...
I spoke too soon - some of my blues were just a little late to hatch! Yay! I had 2 more Falb Fee and 7 more blues hatch. So I ended up getting 11 of the celadons which I'm happy with for starting my line :).
I got them from a local breeder 30 mins away and hand carried the eggs. She ships her...
Thank you for the encouragement! I ended up having a semi successful hatch - 15/18 of the Jumbo Falb Fee which was great, but only 4/18 of my celadon blues. :/ Glad I kept going though to get that 50%!

Great resource with food sources you might have in your pantry already!
I've used nutritional yeast from the grocery store with good results. Good luck!
I got it at trader joe's. I think grocery stores and health food stores have it - common vegan food/flavoring. You can buy chick vitamins or even dissolve vitamin B tablets in water (from what I've read) but I used nutritional yeast because it is what I had on hand.
You can also make a chick...
I just had some chicks that developed limps at a couple days old and read on here that B vitamins help with some leg problems in young chicks. I fed them some nutritional yeast and it totally resolved in 1-2 days. Don't know if that might help your older chick but thought I would mention it...
Hi, I have a batch of 3 dozen quail eggs in an incubator with an automatic turner. When I set it up, I forgot to turn on the automatic turner. And just realized that yesterday. They were in there from Friday night to Monday night without turning at all. When I candle, I can see embryos, but when...
Thanks everyone for your responses! I appreciate it! I've been watching them and going back and forth on gender since they were a couple weeks old so it is really helpful to get some fresh eyes. :) I think I have 2-3 pullets here too
