Young chicks with impacted crops from eating pine shavings

Just curious about how things ended up? I too used pine shavings that my 4 week old white leghorn was eating cuz it mixed with the feed I suspect. It's a hyper kind of destructive bird lol so anything could have happened. Had to take the paper towels out early on that I used during the full 6...

HELP, please. Concrete floor with topsoil as litter? No roof on end of coop ok??

The chickens, and all animals, help my anxiety ...I just am insecure and have doubts about every choice, especially with new things lol. It's just a wooden box I think it use to be a toy box. And yes, they can get in and out of it just fine. They're off heat, yes. I only have a picture of...

Thanks a bunch. Coop is finished. Just need to figure out bedding and their "furniture" lol. This has been fun. Can all those items be kept outside in a shed in the Florida summer heat? I figured I'd have to keep the fed inside at the back door some place. But, idk

HELP, please. Concrete floor with topsoil as litter? No roof on end of coop ok??

We plan on letting them free range in our yard that's fenced in by our home and there's a nice cool dirt area under the porch they love laying under, for really hot days and heat waves. Also will spray down the roof and maybe get a mister.

Five that are 5 and 1/2 weeks and two that are almost 4 weeks old. We were thinking about putting up these long drapes with weights on ends in the back corner. Put the boxes and roosts there. Open curtains during the day if warm

Thank you for the tips. I'd like to attach a picture of the storage place That's inside the run. We want removable roosts and boxes to easily clean. But I think everything could fit inside it easily enough. Maybe keep the door open or remove it and put up curtain

HELP, please. Concrete floor with topsoil as litter? No roof on end of coop ok??

It's been hard to tell because it hasn't rained lately and the concrete dries really quickly. I was thinking keep that area just concrete but I know the summer it'll be hot and winter too cold. Ugh. Main rain I wanted it smaller and for some of his hard work to be taken down ... scared of the...

It's maybe even longer than 40ft. My fiance will KILL me when I tell him I want him to take down all his hard work he's been learning as he goes with scrap wood. Ugh. I feel horrible, but I'll be the one cleaning the coop ... and I need it to be manageable with my back problems arms all. I...

HELP, please. Concrete floor with topsoil as litter? No roof on end of coop ok??

Ok, thanks. And I'm just guessing here, but I'd say my dimensions are 7ft wide and probably 40ft long. I'm so stressed it'll be too big...too much to find deep litter for. I read many places that concrete was best and thought for sure I'd made the best choice. We have many critters around here...

~Passionate noob Thank you. I wasn't going to build a run. HELP, please. Concrete floor with topsoil as litter? No roof on end of coop ok??

Where I live we had an old carport/shed with concrete floor on one side. We've built a up with wood scraps we've scavenged and wire cloth I bought with my stimulus and I thought we could just have the concrete floor, no bedding or litter and it'd be easy to pressure wash clean. We have 5...
