I don’t know much about showing so I’ll have to research it. I know they aren’t recognized but I’d like to push for it if they breed true. They are a beautiful and wonderful breed and have great personalities.

7 week old update

They are gorgeous! When I get back home from visiting my parents I’ll take some pictures of mine.

I’d rather not put my location. I’m in the state of Arkansas. And my family has used chicken wire for generations. If something happens we will add another type of wire. Thank you, though. We have a wire roof.

My husband planned and constructed our run. We have a second coop to attach and a big house coop to build but for the most part it’s done! It’s just basic. Nothing fancy. The chickens love it.

Oh most definitely! I’m keeping a female sapphire as well and and will try breeding him to her to see if they breed true. Also going to try a speckled Sussex/Sapphire cross.

I thought sexing sex-link was 100% accurate. This chick has a comb that’s twice the size and redness and face/beak then the other sapphires. Do I just have an abnormally large hen or is it indeed a roo? Thoughts? He is around 6 weeks.
