hello there! i’ve been getting a little bit concerned with an issue with one of my quails. She is a female, i believe 8 week old quail and can’t seem to peep. I feel like i have heard her peep before but it’s hard to tell. Today i gave them some water while they were running around because it...
I have 4 quails, 3 of them we suspect are females and we’re raised together. 1 of them is older and a male and he stays in a separate cage but sometimes hangs out with the other 3. He is about 8-9 weeks old and just a few day’s ago he has become very aggressive. He has always been very sweet so...
I have 3 quails who are all very fond of each other and never like to separate. They turned 5 weeks yesterday and still no rusty chests and still many spots. My other male quail started to lose spots and get a rusty chest at 3 weeks so we thought that these quail were females. Which would’ve...
I have 4 baby quails, 3 of them are much younger than the 4th and don’t seem to have any problems. My 4th quail is what we suspect is a male and just turned 6 weeks old. He is very happy and healthy. Just recently I noticed how long his nails are and I’m not sure if they need to clipped or...
I have a quail who just turned 3 weeks old today and I am trying to find out it’s gender. We just hatched some chicks so we need to find out the gender so we know how to divide them. We originally thought he/she was a male but then recently noticed he/she had started growing spots on her chest...
I have a male hairless guinea pig who is almost 2 years of age. Over the past few weeks he has been less talkative and is eating less. Yesterday we noticed one of his top foot was bloated. I took a look at it and I was shocked. He seems to have some large scab that is making his foot puff up! I...
I have one quail (who we suspect is a male) who is a little bit older than a week. He used to have a female with him but she died from an injured leg. We are expecting a few hatchlings in the next week or two and am wondering if I can put the quails into the brooder with the week old quail. He...
I would check on them once in a while but if they aren’t peeping like crazy and they seem happy, I think the height is good! 🙂 I have something similar and it’s best to experiment with different heights while watching your chicks behaviour. Hope this helps!:D
I would think they you could remove the pebbles now, I have a few chicks and just to be safe i removed the stones after I moved them from the brooder and into their coop. Hope this helps! 🙂
No he is not. He seems very lively and happy but recently we have noticed he had been gulping and swallowing constantly as well as drinking lots of water. He only vomited once after drinking a lot of water.
does it make a difference if it was clear? He had just finished drinking some water and then seemed to vomit, could it be possible he was just spitting out water? He has only spit it up once
it’s unlikely but possible, I had 2 very aggressive male chickens that I thought were going to hate each other but ended up loving each other, have they been introduced to each other?
