I wholeheartedly agree. We have a responsibility to these living beings (and ALL others).
They deserve the best lives we can give them while they are with us!
I’ve always wanted an emu! Your best best will probably to get a couple fertilized eggs and hatch them yourself.
White House on the Hill is a YouTube channel in NW MO with emus. Maybe you can reach out there?
First things first, I am really happy that you are so willing to find a way for her! The skateboard wheelchair is a stroke of pure genius. Please please please get a video of it! It makes my heart happy to picture it!
I know you have a hard decision to make; that really sucks. Ultimately it...
It’s the same size as everyone else and I don’t have any bullies yet.
I am probably gonna keep it as a pet. It likes to climb right into my hands and sit with me. :love
This baby is 2 weeks old today. S/he’s eating and growing fine, but it’s like her/his head is turning into the letter S.
It started with a little underbite and progressed. We definitely won’t breed it, but is there anything else I can do to help it live a happy life?

I now have 5 ducklings. They’re a week old and cute as all get out. They’re messy. They’re chirpy. They’re amazing. I clean the tub out 2-3 times a day and let them have a short swim after each time.
We already have 2 adult quail hens and 19 chicks.
What can I say? I love poultry!
Ok? 24 out of 35 hatched. 19 survived the first week. I’m not sure my incubator was very accurate or consistent.
They are cute as heck! I did seem to get a variety of colors. Any guesses on final colors?
15 little babies fluffed up and 19 still hatching in the incubator.
I had to go back to work today (elementary school—kids are starting to turn in materials) and it was brutal leaving them this morning! When I left I only had three in the brooder.
These fuzz balls are so sweet and friggin...
Don’t give up hope! I’m almost at the end of day 19 and still have several slackers :old
It could be scooching into a better position. You never know. Keep us posted!
Welcome! :jumpy
I am so done with Corona. Luckily I go back to work tomorrow. Granted it’s just for a week (I teach in 1st grade) because they’re just turning in their materials. I’ve missed them so much! Trying to teach 6 and 7 year olds over Zoom is worse than herding cats.:he
