    Would this work for quail?

Thank you for the input :) it does have a burried apron 18 inches outside all the way around that was installed for the chickens. Right now we have a good amount of snow in Michigan so nothing new will be happening for a few months at least! :)

    Would this work for quail?

Or just give them hiding spots inside the run and not use the house is an option to right? From what I’m reading they don’t need a “coop”

    Would this work for quail?

Hi friends- I built this set up for my two silkie males and I am not super sure in the spring that they will be going back into it. Would it be something I could use for quail? The floor is 5x10. I know I would need to wrap it with wire or netting of some sort but other than that would it work...

    Bugs on/in poop board

🤣 that was my husbands reaction as well. I’m a first time chicken mom just this week my girls are one year old and our coop is in our garage so I’m super cautious and feeling like we missed something.

Mites in the hen house! Help!

I just made a post about tiny poppy seed bugs in my pdz under poop. I found like 5-6 yesterday and checked ladies and saw nothing on them or in the bedding. I used some seven dust and bought some Saturday lime. Did you figure out what they were?

    Bugs on/in poop board

Last night I saw maybe 5 or 6 tiny bugs that looked like moving poppy seeds under the poop I was scooping out of my pdz poop board. I immediately lost my damn mind and checked the bedding and nest boxes and saw nothing, I checked all 8 chickens with a flashlight in several spots (neck, butt...

    Dog house to chicken coop

Hi! I picked up this dog house (almost 3 feet deep and 4 ft 2 in wide) for my two silkie boys :) I’m excited to post some photos as I get it modified and placed into their run. (Excuse this horrible photo of me lol) we will be using a prefab dog kennel as a run covered in wire to close in...

    Silkies - They’re simply SPECTACULAR!

I acquired these two in the fall as “silkie roosters” I’ve never heard the black one crow but the frizzle crows non stop lol. I’m curious if I was duped and they aren’t actually silkies? Is it common for silkies to be mixed with other bantams and still labeled a silkie?

    Calling those with silkie knowledge

Oh! See that’s good to know, I didn’t much about them other then I was told “silkie roosters” 🤣 what would they be mixed with? Thanks for your help! I would be surprised if Tito is 1.5 pounds. Hes a tiny boy but a little snuggle boy.

    Calling those with silkie knowledge

I’ve been lucky so far that they haven’t fought at all for both being roosters. The black one is very tiny and hasn’t grown at all I’m thinking he’s a runt as he is slightly deformed. But man they are so sweet
