How about, Blue hen, Black daddy(Grrr on the comb)... O.O where'd the white chick come from?
The NN is from Nube who's in another pen..I let this hen raise some babies I hatched inside because her eggs were failing.. after raising those tots, she went broody and hatched 8/8 of her own eggs...
Well, I was wanting silver partridge to breed. But the silver just somehow didn't show up in any of General Lee's offspring. Now It's popping up generations later.. Not ever sure General Lee is in the tree at this point.

The above two gals are showing the silver gene in black coats.. The next one is obvious. And then another pullet from a different pen.. Now to find a decent rooster to breed them too.
nd it took 4 years for the silver gene to start popping up again.. four...long... years! General Lee was...
I get them from time to time, pink beaks (or light colored ones), no hat, I just keep the best of the best and sell the rest. I've also got a satin pen, and one satin hen that's a free ranger. She has her choice of 2 roos, also free rangers. Well, someone came to get satin hens last year and...
Can someone confirm if this is a paint? Only black feathers are a few in each wing. 3 weeks old. The only hen I have that produces white is Nube, Showgirl. I put Smokey, Black with gold in the collar in the pen but she didn't seem interested in him at all. Maybe they were being sneaky?
I moved 6 chicks out to Blue Bonnet, who had been sitting for just over 3 weeks, this morning 1 chick was with her, and the other 5 were in the adjacent pen with two mommas who had been busy hatching their eggs. Oh, lord...we got us a chick snatching duo. One hen went back on the nest, while...
Hinotoriiiiiiiiiiiiiiii, lol.. I have a question for you. Assuming this guy is RED, and not partridge, what would be the probable outcomes for putting him with pure blacks? He's got a nice short back, stands very upright, loves to poof out his feather (Look! I'm so big.) 5 individual toes...
BTW, I took the calico splash out of his pen and put in Romeo, a proper black partridge to mate with the 3 ladies in the pen.. I had to chase after the neighbor's dog to get him back.. Danged dog ran right past me with Romeo in his mouth.. wasn't easy running up hill at my age, but I got Romeo...
OMG, you have me laughing so hard right now.. Let me show you some colors I got from 4 black poofy headed ladies and a blue partridge roo... Note: the red partridges are from my red partridge project pen.
How in the world did I get a white one, and a cream colored chick. I can see getting...
There's something strange going on in my incubator.. Yesterday I saw 3 chicks that had internally pipped. Woke up at 3am for the normal bathroom run and no chick. Woke up at 6 am and had one in the incubator. They aren't pipping 24 hours before hatch.. Just waiting until the last hour or so...
Well, drat! I carried some chicks to town and ran out of chicks before I ran out of customers.. One couple followed me home and took the last 3 chicks Plus a nice roo. Got eggs in the bator, and 8 pullets/hens a sittin'. Come onnnnnnnnn... I won't take them to town until they are at least 4...
The last three young pullets from last fall are now laying too! I've got a mess of eggs to cook up and give back as treats now. Plus (I wasn't going to hatch any this year but) 15 going in the incubator from new layers! Just got to see what they'll produce. Last hatch is looking good to me...
