    Supposed to be Easter Eggers...

Good morning! 9 or so weeks ago we brought home 8 straight run EE chicks and 2 BCM’s. Most have some sort of muff ,slate colored legs, pea combs and little to no wattles. But one of the cockerels has obvious wattles forming and two of them have all yellow legs. The white one pictured is my...

Looking for early sexing opinions on EE’s and BCM’s

I was looking at this on my phone and it only shows a singe row. No that I am on my PC I see which 3 you mean. Thanks again

Looking for early sexing opinions on EE’s and BCM’s

Ok thank you. What do you base your assertion on? I was told to look for a three row pea comb on the eggers but have little else to base it off (like comb color) as I am colorblind. I clearly see three on the bird in the third pic but it’s not the same on the others. Thanks again

Not Sure If You've Got A Pullet Or Cockerel? Click Here! Thread 2

I’m no expert but I know that is a cool bird! Also I believe the sickle feathers In the tail are a cockerel trait but don’t take my word for it.

Looking for early sexing opinions on EE’s and BCM’s

5 week update on a few of my birds. I’ll post more when I can get good pics of them all. Any guesses? I can’t figure out how to caption or rearrange the order of the pics🤔 and some are blurry so my apologies.

New coop ventilation and lighting concerns

I am going to monitor the temps inside the coop and if need be I’ll cut a hinged door next to the coop entrance. I read somewhere that I should try not to place vents in line with their roosts to avoid them getting too cold in the winter. I’ve also seen totally open coops in midwestern states...

Looking for early sexing opinions on EE’s and BCM’s

A little early (3 weeks) perhaps but the jury is so accurate here I figured I’d give it a go. Thanks in advance for looking!

New coop ventilation and lighting concerns

Although there are 2 vents (one on each side) I was considering pretty much that exact design placed above my clean out doors. The only thing causing me hesitation is that the ceiling rafters are completely open and getting more air flow through the top seems unnecessary. Thanks for thinking...

New coop ventilation and lighting concerns

Good morning! I started building this coop (first time building...anything) about 3 weeks ago. It’s been a fun process that I have enjoyed taking my time on trying to get everything just right. With that being said I am now concerned that I didn’t allow for adequate natural light and possibly...

    Hello!

Hey all! New to chickens here. We have 10 un-sexed, 3 week old chicks. 8 EE’s and 2 Black Copper Marans all in a brooder in the garage. The coop and run are nearly complete. I will post separate threads on the chicks and the coop. My family of 5 (plus 4 small dogs) are eagerly awaiting the...
