I live in a very humid climate. Things rust and decay easily here. A plastic coop would be perfect for this climate , easy to maintain and a perfect environment for the girls. I love this coop it is good looking and easy to care for a winner all the way.
I would not bother getting a fence as we have a 5 foot fence which they were getting under, I then lined the bottom of the fence with large rocks, now they just fly over.
Mahalo for offering such a well written funny observation about chickens I have decided to get some this spring and as you said I am trying to find any information I can. It is so nice to see something written with humor. It gives me a better idea what to expect.

Aloha,
I have been searching the internet learning about caring for backyard chickens during this time I have seen many coops my question is about the placement of food and water some put it inside the coop and some put it in the run I wondering where it should go ?
Mahalo.
I have been planning on getting chickens for quite awhile and the pest guy was out the other day and told my husband he would never have chickens because they attract red fire ants. I am wondering if this is true ? Have you had any problems?
