    Mistakenly from a guy on Craigslist he had a lot of birds. He said that these were barred rock pullets. Poor guy was sick and weak when we bought him. Lesson learned about buying off of Craigslist all my ladies were bought from a reparable breeder.

    Day 23 as of 7am

    No piping or hatching using Little giant still air incubator. Maintained good temps/humidity eggs were developing as of day 10. Should I throw them out. My students were so excited too.

    It’s 4x4. I have about 36 sq ft of run not that they ever stay there. But my chickens get my whole 1000 something square feet of backyard. Is this Suitable I’m having it built in a few weeks.I can request different sizing of course.

    I put out fly traps. The kind the fly goes into not the strips. Also keeping poo levels low and applying fresh bedding can help as well. One more thing that my family always did was to fill ziplock bags halfway with water and hang them around. Simulated rain or something :D

    Are certain breeds predisposed to be higher in the pecking order than others?

    I have RIRs, gold laced wyndottes, and leghorns. That’s is Also the dominance order. I was just curious if certain breeds are just naturally higher in the pecking order than others? Has anyone ever seen a guide or chart on this also ? My cuckoo maran roo is top though but just barely.

    Yea those aren’t buff Orpingtons looks like red sex links. I got sold a barred rock pullet who was actually a cuckoo maran roo. But your girls are pretty and that’s a real barred rock .
