I always just put some out on the ground or in a bowl and let them peck at it or eat as much as they need. Mine never ate much though... it wasn't like you're describing where they eat it like it's their regular food.
Americaunas are a type of Easter Egger. Easter Eggers aren't really a breed... more a classification or description of chickens that lay multicolored eggs. She looks like an Americauna to me if that helps :)

They look like a pullet to me because I don't see much of a comb or wattles yet. I could be wrong though. My rooster started getting his big comb and wattles at 3 weeks old. Have they started trying to crow yet?
