    They're probably just molting. Chickens usually molt twice a year (mine do, anyway). They seem fine to me! Hope this helps!

    How much grit to feed?

    I always just put some out on the ground or in a bowl and let them peck at it or eat as much as they need. Mine never ate much though... it wasn't like you're describing where they eat it like it's their regular food.

    Americaunas are a type of Easter Egger. Easter Eggers aren't really a breed... more a classification or description of chickens that lay multicolored eggs. She looks like an Americauna to me if that helps :)

    That is normal in beginner-layers. All but one of my chickens have had a few soft-shelled eggs when they started laying. Hope this helps!

    Yea. What I did was start them out on baby crumble when I first got them. After about 17 weeks I started adding the layer pellets to their crumbles.     Roo or pullet ?

    They look like a pullet to me because I don't see much of a comb or wattles yet. I could be wrong though. My rooster started getting his big comb and wattles at 3 weeks old. Have they started trying to crow yet?
