Interested to see what others say! My pullet has laid a few like this and I just figured it was her body getting used to laying again (she's only been laying for a week now this spring after not laying all winter). I figured she was still working on getting the pigmentation part right again.
Thanks. Well it looks like it'll be 4/5 cockerels then. Two are showing coloring and one of those is already crowing. One is clearly a pullet. The other two in question seems like you guys agree will be cockerels.
So is it common for two females to form a pair like they have? They are most definitely bonded and haven't shown any signs of aggression towards each other. I got them from an older woman who said she couldn't care for them anymore. The coconut and the eggs came with them. If these are indeed...
So tonight I got a breeding pair of parakeets. I was told the blue one was male and green female. They have three eggs in a coconut nest currently. The green parakeet is sitting on the eggs and the blue one is caring for her but also sits on the nest with her. I am just concerned about his cere...
When we first got them and then at around 5-6 weeks. These were given to us from someone who got them at Tractor Supply or Rural King I am guessing and said they couldnt care for them. Any ideas? Thanks!
This chick is 6 weeks old. Wondering if you guys have any ideas? I also don't know the breed as it was hatched from a mixed flock. I will say it was the only chick to hatch out of 6 that I incubated. On day 23. Thanks!
I used a Govee sensor for my recent hatch and only one of five hatched. I am convinced the humidity readings were wrong but I was also using a poorly built incubator so I can't say for sure that this was the problem. I just felt like it was always reading way lower that it should have.
I think I'll open it quick enough to put a couple of wet sponges at the same level as the eggs. To add anything below I'd have to take the eggs out. I have plastic tubing ran to the outside at the water tray level. It is rainy here today so that may help! I might also turn in the humidifier in...
Thank you! That makes so much sense. It reminds me of when I didn't have a garage. I'd try to figure out if my windshield would have ice in it in the morning by tracking the dew point! Anyway I am at day 19. Keeping the temp at 98.6 (forced air) humidity is staying at 22% even though I keep...
This is so interesting! So if I have my temperature at 100 and my hydrometer is saying 25% does that mean that I am actually incubating at 63% humidity?
