Just heard the fourth song of the day (5 hens total), but someone laid from the roost and it was broken. Must've been a line for the boxes this morning! So, it will be three instead of four. Hopefully they are starting to pick back up from moult/winter.
4 out of 5 consistently....but I noticed today that my BO's comb and wattles are getting much bigger and redder....hopefully soon they will be 5 for 5!
Mine always return to the coop to lay...although I don't usually let them out until late morning. Keep fake eggs in the boxes, I think that helps give them the idea. My hens are done laying by noon, so if you feel more comfortable waiting until the afternoon to let them out, that should be fine.

We built the same coop this spring...love it! The only thing is we do lose some shavings throught the ramp hole in the floor....i may eventually change the ramp to go out next to the hen house door on the right...

i keep oyster shell free choice, and when we have eggshells I rinse them out really good and then microwave them for a minute and a half. When they cool, I crush them up really good and add to the dish of oyster shell.
