We recently adopted 2 adult ducks but they are extremely messy. I know that ducks are messy by nature, but I can't even let those 2 alone with a small pool without them making a big mess. They are currently living next to our chickens which means that the ground is like soil/earth(not sure...
Now we adopted 2 (6 months old) ducks. I decided not to get any more little ones because of the stress around them. I can't handle loosing more so we got adult ones. I'm still trying to get them to trust me and we are slowly getting there :) Thank you all so much for the help.
He passed away 5 days after we started giving him an antibiotic that the vet gave us. Turns out that he had a parasite way before we adopted him(but the previous owner either didn't tell us or didn't know about it) and it wasn't our fault that he died. Bless his little heart.
Wait I'm kind of confused. What do I do so I get him back to normal? I've heard that a duck having a pale beak is dangerous but I don't know if it's true.
Today I noticed that my duckling's beak is pale and I don't know why. It was pink yesterday but now it's pale. What do I do? He's currently recovering from a parasite and he's also a bit off. Is that normal?(Like, when humans are recovering from a virus to example we also get pale and etc). What...
A bit better. He got checked by a vet and it turned out that he had a parasite. We started his treatment and i hope that in a few days he will be better. I will need to feed with every hour with a syringe tho. it's kind of hard so do you guys have any advice on how to make him not struggle that...
he wasn't drinking yesterday morning as well so me and my dad got worried and he used a syringe to put water in his beak. I only see him drinking water when he starts shaking his head and goes to wash his nose(he just puts his head in the water). I will take him to the vet after my classes just...
Yes you have to be a member. If you feel okay with it I can tell you my Instagram so I can send you the video. If not, that's okay. I'll try to upload it to YouTube if the other thing won't work out.
is it deadly for him to shake his head like that? I don't think that He's choking because if he was he would have been probably dead by now, but I need to help him as fast as possible
I only remove the food for the night because I've heard that wet food can easily get bacteria if it stays for more than 4 hours, but he has full access to water 24/7. I only remove his food for the night or when I need to change it.
My duckling won't drink and he looks like he might be choking/trying to swallow something and it's clearly bothering him. My dad used a syringe to give him some water. What should i do? I can't give him water with the syringe 24/7. He was alright yesterday. Maybe he ate too much? I honestly...
What did you do to help her? My duckling has been like that all day and I'm so worried. She is not choking, because she's breathing alright, but she's shaking her head back and forth for about 5-7 seconds and then it stops. I tried looking inside her mouth, putting water in with a syringe...
