Thanks. No rooster. Maybe it's pecking order fodder?

    Reness on face

Hello! I've just noticed that one of my chickens has very red skin on her face. And another one seems to have lost feathers around her eyes. Any insights would be appreciated.

    Washing polish chicken crests?

I'm new to raising polish chickens. I have 2 buff polish chickens and I've noticed their crests are quite dirty from rain and dirt ( I've been on vacation the last week). What is the best way to wash their crest?

That's funny! They do look like giant tic tags.

    New to raising chickens

Thanks for the tips. I'll try that. I haven't really handled them to check vents, just to pick up and hold once and awhile. We live in Michigan so cold weather is on the way. Darryl roosts on the bar not on the floor.

No I haven't. I'm not quite sure how to look for them, especially near the vent. She hasn't lost much more but still bare on her chest. When do the feathers grow back? Do I need to protector from cold?

New to raising since March. Noticed this in June. And I've seen her pluck more feathers out.

I'm still not seeing any new feathers growing and it's October. Do I need to cover it during the colder months? Another one of my chickens lost feathers on the back of her neck but feathers are growing back.

Thank you. It's really hard for me when I see the pecking. Chickens can be down right mean!

    Top "Dog" or chicken

I'm new to raising chickens. I am wondering if this lone chicken is the queen Bee in the photo. I have seen her peck at a few birds but she is skiddish too, maybe just around me. I see from the camera footage she did get closer to the rest of the flock last night. I had to add another roost spot...

    Blood from pecking?

Thanks. I think the space is open enough. I cleanedher wound and put neosporinon it and noticed she was picking at the spot. I'm wonderingif she did this on her own? She is molting too.
