The camera has been up for about a week and hasn't caught photos of anything except the sheep that also live in the field.

There's a small creek down the wooded hill behind my house. It's about 400 ft from the chicken coop.

All Six Hens Are Gone. What Killed Them?

I got a game camera this afternoon and set it up facing the now empty coop. I guess I'd call where I live suburban edge. There's actually a neighborhood just on the other side of my long driveway that goes alongside the field the chickens lived in. Their backyards back up to my long driveway.

All Six Hens Are Gone. What Killed Them?

Anyone want to help me figure out what killed all my chickens? I had six full grown hens that free ranged in the two acre, fenced in field in front of my house in upstate South Carolina. Two of them were found dead without their heads. All that we found of the others was either feathers...

Speckled Sussex gender? 10 weeks old

Ten weeks ago, I got 6 straight run chicks of various breeds. I am quite sure that 3 of them are pullets and 2 of them are cockerels, but the Speckled Sussex I'm not sure about it. It has a larger, redder comb and wattles like the cockerels, but seems to have the body type and feathers of the...

Post Pictures of Chickens that need to be Sexed Here!

There are six total, but most are really hard to tell apart. Of the two I can tell apart, one has a very short comb and I'm pretty sure that one is a pullet and the other has a stubbier tail than the rest but otherwise looks like the other 4. And yeah, TSC sold them all as female, but I was...

11 Week Old Rhode Island Reds - cockerels or pullets?

We got these as tiny chicks and they are now 11 weeks old. They were supposed to be all girls, but one has recently started crowing making us give all of them a good long look and we are having our doubts... What do y'all think?
