I have a 2 inch drain pipe sloping out from the low point of the run. I was afraid 3 inch or larger could possibly allow something in. It gets muddy, but dries out relatively quickly.
As to breeds, I'm not exactly sure....we were given them by a friend who was looking to pare down her flock. I am sure one is a Cinnamon Queen. The others I think are Jersey (2) and a Plymouth.
Even though we are in town, we have foxes and an occasional coyote that wander through (although our only fatality was from a neighbor's dog....I fortified the run afterwards). We also have owls and hawks. He had a local Coopers Hawk perched on top of the run watching for prey while our girls...
This has changed and is now allowed. A report to the city council was presented on June 16 and the changes suggested were approved and the ordinance was moved from a trial basis to permanent. I will post the current ordinance when it is available.
