The brown hen on top is mavis the original mother/ broody hen... these are the only 2 nesting boxes we have for our hens because it is a small flock

So I can separate them but midnight( the newly broody hen) dug a hole and sat in it. I’m going to get some pictures and try to explain a little bit more!!
I have a very small flock of chicken and one of them went broody so I decided I would get eggs for her because my incubator try was a fail. The eggs are going along greatly. Sadly we lost one towards the beginning but I ran into a problem about 2-3 days ago... my eggs are very close to hatching...
Last and final update... last night while I was asleep the heater failed, i woke up and the egg was cold so sadly it didnt make it but i will try again, this time with a homemade incubator so I can watch humidity and temperature, any recomendations of designs from youtube that work well?
I dont know if i trust whoever is at home to candle it they dont know what they are looking for, i will candle it right when i get home and post pics either on this thread or another.
Okay wierd situation im at school and so im giving all the info to somebody at home... they said they did what you all said to do... its day 21 with my bantam silkie and no wiggles chirps or pips that i can see should i be worried or is it just a late hatcher? I really hope its okay! Ive been so...
