Afternoon, That's super cool to hatch your own baby's, I hope most if not all of them hatch! Coops.... I have 6 girls and I originally started out with a rickety brooder I made out of old fence wood and chicken wire In my garage. My POA at the time wouldn't allow chickens so everything had...

Texas Naturals vs New Country Organics

Good Morning All, It's a beautiful morning just south of Houston TX. Nothing like a cup of coffee, a little front porch sitting watching the sun rise and the girls run around the yard.... To the point... so I've been feeding the girls NCO (new country organics) since they were chicks. None of...

My pullets have been laying for about a month, but their eggs are still small. How long will it take to get full-size eggs

This is awesome! ive been looking for this information thanks for asking and thanks for the responses. My GLWs have been laying some pretty small eggs (they've been laying about a month) and I knew they would be small at first, just didn't know when they would pick up in size. Thanks Yall!

Can you tell me your experience with New Country Organics feed?

Sweet! well that makes me feel a lot better about it then. I'm glad they got back with you, just sucks it took so long. They really need to reprint the label…. 🤔 You mentioned your flock didn't really eat the fines and you soak them. What does that entail? you just wet it down? Mine don't eat...

    Grit

Im glad I came across this thread. So I just recently introduced my girls (9 GLW) to some chick grit about 2 weeks ago, they are 16 weeks old on the 3rd. I also just took them off of chick starter and put them on grower/Broiler feed until they start to lay. I give them a small bowl of grit...

Can you tell me your experience with New Country Organics feed?

Wow, I just went and looked, and it is considerably higher than other starter and grower broiler feed. Hmmm.... my girls have been on it since the 3rd they were at home and they seem to love it never had an issue with them not taking it or anything. I know I've read the label before but I guess...

    When to start layer feed?

So Im still new to the game but most of the folks I talk to and the majority of what I read says to not feed layer feed until they start to lay. With that said, I've read several on here that say it can be beneficial to start before laying to improve egg shell quality and prepare the birds for...

ISO Wyandotte Breeders that ship hatching eggs!

The dragonfly farms I'm talking about is out of Arkansas, Are they the same company? I didn't know there was one in Hillsborough lol. They are a little pricey, but if the product is quality as they look, and good standard quality birds, Id say they are worth it.

They actually got here 3 days before their supposed "ship date". its funny looking at this post now, I ordered my babys on the 27th of march, ship date was supposed to be April 6th, my post office called me on April 3rd...
