Good to hear, seems like he has gained full strength to hold them up without any dropping now and seems like all his feathers have come since one of his siblings (female) just flew across the lake for the first time yesterday!
So the rest of the pack should be getting ready to fly soon as well...
Hey guys, a little update
my mom and I were able to catch the duckling and tape his wings using bandage and waterproof tape...from July 22nd to July 25th, we kept a close eye on him all day for those days since we decided against keeping him inside, we just let him live his life with his 3...
Okay I’ll try getting 2 if possible
And they’ll be staying inside my house so no predators at all
This will all be for the better in the long run so he can be a happy duck 😄
thank you very much for all the help!
Okay we have decided to buy a big dog cage and hold him captive there for 2-3 days and hope his AW gets corrected, we wouldn’t be doing right by the little duckling if we let him grow with AW and be flightless
my question is, he will cry, be stressed, miss his siblings but will that...
If anyone sees this again,
Keeping him inside for 5-7 days (basically kidnapping him) is not an option since he’s wild,
Would this alternative have a shot at working?...wrapping him with bandage/sock first thing in the morning and then taking the bandage/sock off when he’s off to sleep at...
Ohhh so take him in for a week?
I don’t know I live in a small townhouse, he’ll probably cry nonstop and be stressed..I doubt taking him in is an option
And him not swimming will suck since all 4 ducklings swim across the lake to be under a tree at night
ahhh this is so stressful, never feed...
Keep what up?
My mom and I have decided to try and grab it tomorrow and will try wrapping each wing and hope it stays on for a few days and hopefully that can correct it..hopefully our neighbors don’t report us or think we’re hurting the poor duckling
they are kind of my responsibility now...
Thank you!
I was hoping it wasn’t AW, dang it
idk what to do, I doubt this wild duckling will stay still and let us put a wrap around it..and it probably won’t stay on for long especially not for 5+ days while he’s out and about
Hello,
I have been feeding 4 orphaned Muscovy ducklings since their mom passed away about a month ago, they’re about 8-9 weeks old..and I noticed both of the duckling’s wings were growing outward
from what I’ve been researching, it surely appears to be angel wing correct?
since they’re wild...
