    Our heat lap blew as soon as I plugged it in . I ended up used a regular light bulb and painted it red that was 3 weeks ago night temps have been as low as upper 60s but most nights they are in the 70s

    I would definitely enclose the top of it. We did it here because of the hawks. And bald eagles. And all the other predators we have in the woods

    Yes they have big plans. Just like tonight I was late turning their light on and all of them were standing at the ramp waiting on me .So they could go in the coop because it was dark

    I’ve been using a red light plugged in since their first night . Now I go out and turn it on about 30 min before dark . And when I go out at night they are already in the coop

    I never put them in a brooder just put them in the coop with a light bulb I painted red . But it was also 90 plus degrees in the day time and high 70s at night
