Does anyone know where I can buy mandarin duck eggs all????

I bought mandarin duck eggs off of eBay. However be warned; mandarin ducks only lay eggs in a certain window. They usually lay from April-may. You may find some eggs online in June but it’ll be hard. I bought around 25 eggs and received 27. They range from $125-$250+.

    Americanus stop laying

As the season progresses toward a cooler time of the year, hens will stop producing as many eggs as they used to. Also depends on the breeds themselves, are the other true egg layers? Those breeds tend to lay a little bit longer just before they molt.

    Are my eggs dead

Not at all! Day 17 and 18 are common lockdown days, but like I said each little chick takes his or her own time to hatch. Time is all they need. I personally put eggs on lockdown on day 18.

    Are my eggs dead

Not necessarily true, my bantams usually hatch from day 20- 22 (these are from about 200+ eggs hatched from an incubator). There might be some other people who have early hatches, but each flock is different. There may be a correlation between bantam and early hatch rates, but correlation is not...

    Are my eggs dead

Hello, In my opinion, it all depends on your incubator and how well it works at circulating air. Believe me, you are not dumb! It is ok to open the incubator on lockdown for good reasons. It generally won't hurt the eggs, even when they are pipping. Eggs don't usually hatch until day 21 or a...

    Interesting behavior spotted!

Yes, prey animals are very observant of their environment. It also helps that they have 340° view to help detect predators. My chickens do the exact same thing hahah

    Breeding quail for money

You could maybe try and breed those two. I've personally never had an aggressive quail in my flock and that's just out of the hundreds that I've hatched. Believe it or not, everything else you can look up online! It all comes down to feed costs and conversion rates. I believe there are...

    Sick new chickens

I'd recommend Tylan 200 for the injectible; works miracles. That being said, I'm not sure if it's plausible to use antibiotics and corid at the same time. I personally have never done that.

    Diarrhea no eggs

She more than likely has diarrhea due to an obsessive amount of protein in her diet. How much protein is in the feed that you are giving her? You generally want to lower the protein and increase the energy amount when feeding grower.

Genesis Hovabator 1588 vs Nurture Right 360

It's best if you look up youtube reviews on both the incubators. Are you planning to buy either of the incubators? I've had great success with my GQF incubator, hatched over 1,000+ chicks from it. All from different forms of poultry: Chickens, quail, peacocks, and ducks.

How can I sell chicken meat/eggs legally in Idaho?

Well, first thing is first, look up what you can and can't do in Idaho, more specifically in your city ordinance. I live in Illinois, but I don't need a license to sell eggs on my property. If I wanted to sell eggs off of my property, I would need a license. Googling these questions by...

Our first ducks egg - help

Depending on how old they are they may have already reached sexual maturity. Young drakes can mate with older hens no problem, you're gonna get a hybrid if the egg is fertile. You can leave the egg in a space that's somewhat room temperature to cool. That being said the longer it is outside and...

Hatching Quail Eggs: I need advice

I use 2 GQF Incubators. One for setting 1-15 and one for hatching 16-18. I have hatched many Coturnix. Not sure if they have different incubating periods compared to bobwhites. They more than likely do. Here is the humidity and temp that I use for Coturnix. 55% for setting and 70% for hatching...

Moving ducks and ducklings into enclosure

Is your duck sitting on them? If you move her, there's a chance she'll reject the eggs. The least stressful way in my experience is during the night time when they are out of it. Relocate her to where you want her/eggs. Like I said earlier, there is a chance she will reject the eggs if she is...

    Duck embryos stuck

If the embryo is stuck, it's more than likely going to stay stuck and die. It's only a matter of time. In my experience, duck eggs are more on the delicate side. You want to rotate them 6+ times a day until day 25-26. It's really in your best interest to buy an incubator with a turning rack...

Female quail has no tail feathers?

More than likely missing due to the males when they are trying to mate. I have had a similar problem with the Coturnix quail that I have. They are REALLY good at mating, lol. Nothing really to worry about. If it starts getting worse, take away 2-3 males, and they should be fine.

    excepting pheasant tips!

Give them food with high protein-simulates what they would eat in the wild. I have a few in my barn; they don't need much maintenance. You can put roosting bars if you please. I can't think of anything else other than food. They're really like chickens except they're timider. Over time, they'll...

Yellow glob on my chickens egg

This isn't normal, but I'm sure its nothing to worry about, it's maybe like a 1 in 1,000,000 thing. What maybe happened is that while an ovum was about to be fermented, she somehow let another ovum go, and it never became an egg? It just followed afterward and came out like poop, and it just...
