    Shell less eggs/soft egg/weird clumps

Thank you for your reply! We do not have a rooster. She is on layer feed and has oyster shells available. We also feed her cooked eggs with eggshell mixed in once a week for the last few weeks to try and boost her calcium. Is there another calcium supplement that can be given to her as well ...

    Shell less eggs/soft egg/weird clumps

Hello everyone ! So my girl Sven has something weird going on. I’m suspecting it’s an infection somewhere in the laying process … other than the eggs she is completely fine - no breathing, inflammation, Bumblefoot or anything else on the outside. She’s eating and drinking as normal. She also...

It’s a lot of stare downs and a couple jumps on each other. For young roosters - they are really good together !

    Bumblefoot

Hello! Unfortunately, I have found a mild case of Bumblefoot on a couple of my hens. I am currently doing epsolm salt baths for 20 minutes twice a day then putting some peroxide on it to clean it out. I live in Canada - I cannot get neosporin. Is regular polysporin ok to use (the one with NO...

Gender ? Two BCM and one EE

Yes! 5 chicks in total. I know 1 of the EEs (the one in the picture with all of them - he is standing tall) is a boy and 1 is sex-linked so she’s a girl. It’s the 2 BCM and 1 grey EE that I’m wondering about !!

Weird feather growth and egg laying!

LOL update: chickens are so funny. It seems they love a pile of nonsense - even with no treats in it more than anything. They dug around in there for hours the last couple days. Great and easy fix while it’s super cold - thank you @Alaskan

Weird feather growth and egg laying!

Thank you for the suggestions! I’ve piled a big mountain with some treats, added another fresh dirt bath and - it’s warming up so she got out for a loooooong time today. Only saw her peck once. Looks like boredom - or winter blues. Looks like I’ll be making a swing or some other contraption to...

Weird feather growth and egg laying!

@JedJackson There are only 4 chickens all girls. Boredom may be part of the issue - their coop and covered run is big enough I think - covered run only is roughly 15 X 12 feet. We have one of the wire hanging treat things, a couple treat balls, a sand pit, a dirt pit. Occasionally I’ll put a...
