Pecking feathers at base of tail

Help! I have 6 Wyandotte’s and 3 are being pecked like this in the same spot. This one is the worst. This girl also has a deformed upper beak and I worry about her health. What can I do to stop the pecking? Thanks so much for helping in advance.

    Struggling chick

Hello! I picked out some silver lace Wyandotte chicks a little more than a week ago. The smallest seems to be having labored breathing. Is there anything I should be doing? She acts fine otherwise, just not as active as the others. Not being picked on. Eating and drinking ok.

If this is Molting, this is bad...

I know there’s been a lot of posts about molting. I have never experienced it before. I have 6 hens, all Americauna’s and about 18 months old. Only one is losing her feathers. When I say losing I mean lost - a lot. No feathers on her rump and underside, around her neck and at base of tail...

    Entertaining the girls...

What do some of you put in your coops/pens to give the girls something to do to keep from boredom and hen pecking. With winter coming, I foresee them in the coop more often. I put a couple swings in my pen, but theMy coop is large. 12 x 6 ft. with 7 birds. Thanks for any tips that have been...

    This doesn’t seem normal...

For the first time I have a hen that doesn’t want to leave the coop. She’s squatting, and in and out of the nesting boxes. She seems uncomfortable and it’s been all day. Is this supposed to be like having a baby for the first time? All the other hens are out playing. I’m worried about Edna...

    What if...

My chickens aren’t laying... they are all of 5 months old. Americauna’s. Is this unusual? Or am I just anxious? I’m not finding any in the nest boxes or on the property where they like to rest.
