Sometimes I had seen a little red in one of my hens poop, which is a little soft but not runny or foamy. I read that sometimes the stomach lining sheds, but cautioned it could also be coccidisis, so I treated their water with powdered Corid Amprolium for one week, and stopped it last Sunday...
Aloha! Gee, if you were on Oahu, you could just go outside and scoop them up!🤣the roosters here keep these hens busy!! New crops of chicks every few weeks!🐥🐥🐥
Awhile ago, someone asked what Sweet PDZ was, when I suggested it for keeping smells down in coop. It is "a safe-fast acting odor neutralization and moisture absorption for a fresh, healthy chicken coop. ' All natural minerals. I found it on Amazon after googling its use and efficacy.
My Rosie’s coop, totally enclosed had a tarp over it, but it rained sooo hard there was a huge puddle on the top making the wire sag, so I bought a sheet of plywood and slid it under the tarp, then I poured gravel all around the perimeter on the outside, and put wood flakes inside on the ground...
Hi, yes 1/2” hardware wire would be better, but the coop from Home Depot that I had to put together just cane with regular. I did put a second layer that’s 36” all the way around and I offset the hikes because the kitties inside and curious ones outside could go through- such drama! I did buy a...
Hi folks, so as a newbie chicken mom it’s all new to me. Rosie refuses to go into the wood coop that is noise the wire coop. We live in Hawaii but the evenings are getting chilly. She is trying to teach her 2 young to fly onto the roof or the wood coop, but they are not there yet, so she sleeps...
Her coop is outdoors, with grass under. She has herbs inside and the other chickens hang out in the yard. She seems really happy, and I’m pretty sure she feels safe. When she was outside, the other chickens kind of bullied her. She had her babies before her coop arrived, and she would show up in...
Hi! So the one I want to swap is outside. Rosie and her 2 are coop only 5’ x 9’ x 6’ . There are too many dangers outside: feral cats, mongoose and some people. My neighbor will hose them and other things. How will I know when Rosie weans the cockerel? New term for me 😬🐥
Aloha everyone,
One of Rosie’s 2 babies is a rooster- I think🤷🏻♀️So at some point can I take him out of the coop? And could I introduce a different hen about the same age as the rooster? What will both moms feel? Thanks
Sooo, I could not catch Rosie to put her in the coop even though we were in the run. She kept walking and clucking, so did her babies, and every time I reached for her she did not really like it. Any technique advice ?😬
