    Scratch and Peck layer food does great for my 9 hens.....they free range on 5 acres in the afternoons and I limit treats (meal worms, sunflower seed) to 1 T a day per bird. Getting 6-8 eggs a day and everyone is healthy. One rooster for the flock

    Bird won't put weight on this leg.....she has an injury (5 inch cut, sewn up) under the wing on that side from dog attack a week ago. She stands and hops around on one leg, balancing with her wings, but she won't use this leg. It's a little warm to the touch. I separated her for several days...

    My hen was attacked by a dog.....she had a 5 inch cut under her wing which we sewed up and is healing well,. She stands and hops around and even jumps up and over things,,,but she is very unsteady, using her wings, and putting weight on the one leg. I checked out both legs and on the injured...

    Yes, I rigged a spot in the coop surrounded by wire so they can see each other, but they can't get to her. She's eating and drinking well. She got scared once when I had put her in the yard when the other hens were out.....and she scuttled right under the coop. But mostly, she won't walk on it.

    Wet towels and put them in the coop.....my girls will lie on those if they are really hot.
